Alexa Fails (Important Voice Search Info)

So what is gonna happen with Voice Search?

Did you know it’s estimated that 50% of online searches will be done by voice in the next few years?

Talking to our in-expensive Google Home or Alexa / whatever brand smart device is how half of all searches will be done.

I asked Alexa for sushi and she wanted me to travel 90 miles.

IMHO… that’s an “Alexa Fail.”

I think there are some bugs to work out.

But here’s what we do know.

We know that voice-search will be driven mainly by “Organic SEO.”

Meaning… it’s gonna be a while before Google Ads (or other ads) start to show up when you do a search via voice on a smart device.

Why? Because, … speakers have no screens (Captain Obvious confirmed that for me).

On a screen you can see the results. You can choose. You can see which results are ads and which are not.

You get some freedom.

There’s also the idea that we’ll start to loose trust in the information Google Home or Alexa gives us if we know, the results are ads. Almost like… thinking “Alexa can be bought.” (Sounds sketchy to me)

Therefor … it’s time to make sure you’re on your SEO “A-Game!”
