I Might Eat My Tweet & “Egg on the Face”

OH… boy!

It might be time for me to take my foot out of my mouth.

We shall see.

Here’s why.

Social Media.

All this time – for the last five years – I have always bloviated about the power of Facebook and in particular Facebook Advertising.

And I will not stop bloviating any time soon.

But I may have to eat my words when it comes to Twitter.

See… Ever since Twitter went public I predicted its demise. I even successfully predicted Twitter stock would tumble. I should have picked up some “Put Options” or perhaps taken a short position.

Anyhoo…

I’ve always said the problem with Twitter… RETENTION. After all these years… 245 or so million compared to Facebook’s “bazillion.” Twitter has had a tons of user turn-over.

Two things Twitter is doing.

No… User growth has not ballooned.

But … Twitter is launching some new ad programs that show Twitter content/ads off of Twitter in other sites and apps.

Next… Twitter just signed a deal with Google to have Tweets show up in Google Search Results.

We’ll see how it plays out.

I will let you know when I eat my words!

Next… “Egg on the Face.”

Those were the words spoken to me by a “possible” client. They have no website –  as in – nada!

Well… a particular customer of theirs wanted to “see” their website and casually asked for the web link.

“Uhh… we don’t have one!” was the reply.

I am hearing more and more stories of out-dated websites, less than professional websites and less than accurate online representation actually doing harm.

When those proposals are being held side-by-side and every little detail matters a solid web presence can give you the winner’s edge.

We may not have those hover-boards but we do have savvy, connected consumers.

Stay Fit!

Quote of The Week…

“I ain’t got time to bleed!”  Who said it?
