Google’s Next Mobilegeddon

December 22, 2017

Back in 2015… Google got many sites and businesses to make some changes and at least develop mobile versions.

We went the route of “Responsive Design” for our clients back in early 2013.

Google’s 2015 Mobilegeddon was all about Google flagging sites and “not mobile friendly” when someone did a search on a smartphone.

In 2018, Google will be revisiting the Mobilegeddon idea.

Here’s how.

Google is developing a mobile first index.

Sites that have mobile versions (two different sites) will have to make some updates and submit their pages via Google Webmaster Tools to be indexed.

Sites that are not mobile friendly or otherwise… simply terrible on smartphones will get tossed.

But guess what… Responsive Sites are good to go.

Of course, for our SEO Clients will make some tweaks and resubmit pages to the mobile index.
