Responsive Web Design Update

Back in the spring of 2013 I wrote an email newsletter about the “rumor” that Google will favor “Responsive Web Design” in search results.

Meaning… a positive ranking factor (in your favor) if your business website is built using responsive design. All things being equal… two properly optimized websites… if one is responsive and the other isn’t, the responsive one will rank better.

I remember that post because when I sent out the email I actually said … “Roomer” instead of “Rumor.”

OH… well. I’m only human.

But guess what… Roomers and Rumors aside.

It’s now happening!responsive web design nh

This new “Google Rule’ will go into effect in April.

And guess what…

Google is already making note in search results which sites are responsive and which sites aren’t.

Check out the screen shot below taken while searching on my smartphone for fitness classes. (Side note: My wife owns one of the fitness studios in the screenshot.)

You can see… the “Mobile Friendly” message from Google!

We’ve been building responsive websites since early 2013.

Responsive Design basically means… “One website that looks great and displays well on all screens.”

Obviously… “Looks Great” is relative.

Anyway… that’s it. Responsive Web Design
