Facebook Video VS Youtube Video
Let’s focus on how Facebook is eating Youtube’s lunch and what this means for you.
Over the last two years Facebook has really launched an attack on Youtube.
Facebook’s mission is to totally up-end Youtube’s video dominance online.
And Facebook is succeeding. Here are a few ideas and insights from my own experiments.
Over the last two months I have seen more traction using Facebook video tied to my business pages in terms of views and engagement.
Almost to the point – now that while I upload to youtube, I don’t expect much from it.
Yes… I know – there are many Youtube “hacks” I am not exploiting, and I’m aware and OK with it.
Here’s a little strategy…
Think of your format and framework.
If you want to do “on-site” quick videos of what you’re up to in your business, get started.
Shoot some video. Don’t worry too much about production value.
Get some traction.
If you want to convey some content (like I do) pay attention to sound quality and get a good mic.
Then… Post those videos.
Next… Be ready to pay a few bucks to reach more Facebook users.
Target “suspects” on Facebook using the data that applies to who you want.
Finally… (And I feel most important)… Use Facebook “re-marketing” to re-engage your website visitors and email list on Facebook with your video.
You’ll need to install the FB Pixels on your website and upload your email list to Facebook.
You’ll be able to engage folks who already sort of know you with your videos.
That’s it… your base recipe for Facebook video success.
And remember… STILL upload your videos to Youtube… tag it properly… because it can be found in Google search results.
