Google Changes and Facebook Announcement

Google recently dodged an “Anti-Trust” action from the U.S. Government.

What this means is Google is NOT guilty of using its search dominance to feature its own products.

Google can now keep plugging away at its mission of making its flagship search engine into an “answers engine.”

The idea is to deliver answers to search queries at lightening speed.

No one really knows exactly what that means right now.

But one thing is certain and that is… Search Marketing will change “again” in the very near future.

Most of the changes will be subtle. Phased in over-time.

The key is to simply stay on top of things.

Facebook’s Announcement…

Facebook will reveal some big news on Tuesday January 15th.

Possible topics…

Additional Facebook Ads Features.

A more refined & focused search function that will make searching even more social and introduce Facebook as a place to “search.”

Revamps to location-based functions.

Whatever the big announcement is (OH – yea – there’s rumors of the “Facebook Phone”) I’d bet we’ll all have new opportunities to use Facebook as a marketing tool.
