Yelp Update and App Install Ads on Facebook and Google

Mike Dolpies

I hope the first week of the year has turned out to be a good one for you.

A couple things…

We’re due for a quick update on some internet marketing stuff.

Here goes…

FYI – YELP Beat the Rap.

The FTC dropped its case against YELP.

Long story short…

Many small biz owners were (and I am sure still are) fired up about Yelp supposedly giving advertisers preference on their review engine.

Basically… If you give up the green stuff – you get priority on Yelp (that’s what they alleged.)

The FTC did not agree.

It’s over for now. They (the FTC) also said… Even if Yelp did that – it would not really be illegal.

OK – Next.

App Installs:

I’ll be testing this for a few clients who we have built apps for.

Basically. On Google and Facebook we can direct ads at getting our mobile apps downloaded.

Why would we do this? Because prospects who have your app will be more engaged.
