Google and HTTPS

I found this draft in blog from 2014! Enjoy!

There’s a new factor coming soon to Google’s ranking algorithm.

And that’s… HTTPS.

The S is for “Secure.”

Meaning there’s a layer of security on the hosting server.

If you look you will notice that a few of the sites you visit, conduct business on, etc are all marked with the HTTPS.

Gmail, banking, Facebook and others add this layer.

For the above mentioned sites… the security is a must because tons of sensitive info flows through.

But what about normal, everyday websites?

Is a site dangerous if it does not have this layer? No.

However, there may be a time soon when adding this extra security to your business website will give you a little advantage in search.

What to do now?

Nothing. Just keep an eye.

We are keeping an eye on this for all of our clients too.

Enjoy the week!
