For as long as I have been in the internet marketing game I have talked about how important email marketing can be.

Going back to late 2011 I started encouraging clients and contacts alike to get into the “Facebook Ads” game.

Over the last few years I have helped several clients do some cool things with email and with Facebook Advertising strategies.

Interestingly enough – these two powerful online marketing concepts can work together.

This is not “new.” Facebook has had this feature for a while.

However – it rolled out recently on a mass scale.

What is it?

Glad you asked…

It’s the ability for you to build a custom audience on Facebook.

How?

By targeting people who are on your email opt-in list.

Now… Of course – this all comes with a little “dig the well before you thirst” mentality.

Naturally, you would have had to build your email list over the last few years (or whatever).

Several ways to build your email list which we won’t get into here.

Let’s think about how this Facebook re-targeting can work.

No matter how good you are at email marketing the fact is open-rates will be, at best, 30%.

There are over a billion plus people on Facebook.

Facebook will match your email list to their user base.

If you created a previous relationship with a user via email you can now “reconnect” with them on Facebook.

From there – there’s all kind of cool things and “objectives” you can set out to accomplish.
