Custom Tabs and Facebook Advertising

When Facebook made the switch to to Timelines for Business Pages they also introduced their apps for pages feature. Don’t let the name “Apps” confuse you. Apps on your Facebook Business Page are simply tabs.

Think of them as “Navigation Items” like on your website. Each will open into a piece of content.

One of the main uses of these “Custom Tabs” is to work them into your Facebook Ads strategy.

When placing and targeting your Facebook Ads you can choose to send the clicks to any of the tabs associated with your page. The default option is “Timeline.” When working with clients we determine the product/service being advertised and then we build a tab on Facebook to match.

I recommend you make sure your custom tab/app content matches and expands on the ad.

As you work your Facebook Ads campaigns you can change the tabs to match new ads. You can rotate the content and test new calls to action. Here are just a few examples…
