Content Marketing and The Information you Must Get Out

You’ve heard of the Acres of Diamonds story by Russell Conwell, right?

Old Yeller (1957 film)

The one where the guy goes out looking for the diamonds and all the while they were sitting on his own land?

Had he known this tid bit of info he would not have thrown himself off of a cliff.

Not every story has a happy ending.

Old Yeller had to be shot in the end.

OK, enough about tragedy.

Yesterday while working with a client and wrapping up phase one of his project ( a new company website) he sent the final changes with an “idea.”

The “idea” was a good one.

It was based on a common practice in his industry that is not yet outlawed but certainly shady.

He told us all about this common practice and made it clear his company does not do this even though he would be allowed to do it.

Let’s just say it has to do with personal health records and data that is legally sent overseas.

Again – his company is not an offender.

But his new site did not mention this.

That’s what jumped out at him as missing.

We were able to take his paragraph and his passion for this issue and turn it into nicely crafted report that will be quality and informational content for his prospective clients.

Now… no major life-lessons here like “Old Yeller.” This isn’t about Travis or you taking a step toward adulthood.

But the reality is you have mountains of great knowledge and content sitting in your head.

Your expertise.

Your understanding of your prospect.

In the age of Content and Content Marketing it has to come out.

In the next couple of weeks I’ll be sharing some content marketing ideas you can use in your business.

Cheers!
