Before we get down to business about these recent Facebook developments – something on the personal side…

Another Facebook rumor is they (Facebook) are thinking about a “sympathize” button.

For obvious reasons…

If someone has some sad news and they post it on Facebook (why people do this I have no idea!) you don’t want to press “like.”

We’ll see where that goes. The drama queens will love it!

Down to biz…

Something many small business owners have been up in arms about for a while now is the whole…

“Reach” thing.

Meaning – fact is most of your Facebook business page posts will not get to your audience.

Just the way it is.

We knew this already.

Why? Mainly because there is just way too much to show the average Facebook user.

Facebook is more of filter than anything else.

Facebook’s words…

“Brands Will Have To Work Harder (Or Buy Ads) For Your Attention — But Fans Still Matter.”

What this means…

The principles of FB marketing that I have been talking about for almost two years still hold true…

  1. Acquire targeted page likes. We call ’em “suspects.”
  2. Use this “Like Base” to re-target your Facebook marketing efforts.
