Small Business Marketing and The Power of Audiences
One of the principles I live by… simplicity.
I mean… why complicate things, right?
When doing consulting work I often help clients understand the idea of “Managing Audiences” for small business marketing.
This strategy is really about first, taking inventory of what you have and then thinking about how to embrace what you’re not currently using.
The breakdown…
Think of platforms as media properties.
Various Platforms…
Physical Mail
Mobile App
There are more.
The above four are a good place to start.
And remember… this is an overview… each one of these platforms can take up a whole seminar!
With email you are managing an “opt-in” email list of leads, clients, customers, etc.
Facebook… You have the users who “like” your page. But you also have the power to use Facebook Ads to tap into the tons of data Facebook collects.
Physical Mail/Snail Mail is still a “channel” to use. Develop a method to collect mailing addresses of prospects/customers/clients. A once a month postcard can work. A newsletter can work. Sometimes nothing compares to a good mail piece to the right prospect.
When it comes to the Mobile App…
A mobile app can also be a powerful “media/audience” to embrace. When someone downloads your app they have invited you to join them on the screen(s) they check more than forty times per day.
Beyond all of the engagement power of a mobile app the simple “push notice” gives you a direct line of communication.
These are just some ideas to help you see your marketing/internet marketing more clearly.
Now the key is to embrace various channels and manage audiences with your small business marketing.
Have fun!
